2009-04-27 Mindy turns 35!

Mindy - when did you grow up? This is a photo of Mindy when she turned 3 years old. Sarah turns 3 tomorrow. Mindy loved her babies - just like Sarah.

2009-04-25 Breckenridge

We spent a couple of days with the Egberts and Conleys in Breckenridge. We traded a unit at the Park City Marriott for this week. We suffered from the altitude so we only stayed a couple of days.

2009-04-20 Grow boxes

We're making an attempt to grow a garden using grow boxes. We built these grow boxes and placed them where they will get plenty of sun.

2009-04-18 Salt Lake Marathon

We had a great time despite the early hour (6 am start for the bike ride). The weather was cool, but not unpleasant, except for Melissa and Thomas's hands (no gloves). Michelle finished the marathon, Michael the half marathon and Thomas and Melissa and Grandpa the bike ride. Melissa rode for Grandma who is suffering from a back strain. Grandma gave up her sweater to help keep Michelle warm after her race. Hans drove unhappy children from viewpoint to viewpoint to urge Michelle in her making her goal. Hans's parents came to support.

2009-04-13 Ava broke her leg skiing

After a couple of days not being able to put any weight on her leg, Natalie took Ava to Primary Childrens Medical Center for an X-ray. Sure enough - her tibia is cracked. After the fall she said she didn't want to ski ever again, but she told Melissa on the way to the airport that the best part of the trip to Utah was the broken leg.



She got this splint at Primary Children's, and now Natalie and Brian are trying to navigate the medical system in California to get a cast.



Now Ava has a waterproof cast, but Natalie is getting exercise carrying her up a flight of stairs to their apartment in Thousand Oaks.



Cast off - all better! Well she has a stiff ankle.

2009-04-12 Easter Dinner

Not so much candy, but more money. Brian helped us put money on the family room fan. Grandma gave the word and we turned on the fan to rain down money. The pandemonium was over in just a minute or so.

2009-04-09 Dinner

We ate grilled chicken, green salad, asparagus and fresh mango. Healthy and nutritious!

2009-04-09 Paula Elsa Ava and Greta

We've enjoyed having Natalie and her girls here for the week while they are enroute to California.



Greta is at a great age. She's crawling all over, very curious and rarely left to herself by her older sisters.

2009-04-05 Easter skirts

Grandma spent a lot of time and love making these skirts for Easter for her granddaughters.

2009-04-05 Conference weekend

We enjoyed a day of sitting around watching conference with Fords, Christensens (minus Coray who was in Palm Springs on business), Heaths, and Grandma Roylance. Grandma Donna came for dinner. Mindy, Abby and Jonathan went to the afternoon session of conference downdown while Will and Sarah stayed with us. Elsa and Ava enjoyed playing with their cousins, and vice versa.

2009-04-01 Skiing at Brighton

Mindy, Melissa and I spent the day skiing at Brighton. Grandma tended for Mindy and Melissa arranged for Jack to spend the day with a friend. We got a late start due to the snowy weather that prevented Mindy from making a quick drive from Highland. There was a sign at the bottom of Snake Creek that said 'free hot cocoa and hot dogs at the top of Majestic lift' We fell for this April Fool's day joke of course. Nothing like a hot dog to tempt one to ride the slowest lift.
