We've enjoyed some beautiful sunsets due to the variable weather we've had in June. We walked out on the golf course to see the sunset.
Abby took this picture of me enjoying all the attention from my doting family. Food was wonderful at our dinner, prepared with care by Grandma, Mindy and Melissa. Many wonderful gifts including a bright yellow golf shirt, books, a waffle iron and some dress shirts. Handmade cards were especially appreciated.
I was assigned the task of portraying Samuel the Lamanite for our Primary activity. I sat on a ladder and told a number of groups of Primary children the story of Samuel and reminded them that Samuel could not be hit by the arrows and stones of the wicked Nephites. They then spent considerable effort throwing soaking wet sponges at me.
Many of our ward members were out sandbagging the neighborhood. The homes along Cobble Canyon were getting their back yards flooded. The World's home was in the worst danger as the bank of the river fell away. We moved furniture to the other side of the home and then the fire department and public utilities folks made everyone leave the home.
